Meningitis - a parent's nightmare

Very important information just came out about some early symptoms of bacterial meningitis. Cold hands, severe leg pain and very pale skin usually precede the characteristic rash that appears just a couple of hours before the child becomes critically ill.
This illness, against which there is no vaccine (the one that exists is for meningitis C, which is the least frequent type of meningitis) is among any parent's worst nightmares as it is very quick to develop and very often fatal. It can kill in a matter of hours.
