Armistice Day

In 1918, the fighting of WWI in Western Europe stopped on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month.
What a pity that peace didn't last forever (it couldn't, could it?)...
What a pity that the Great War, with its 37 million atrocious casualties wasn't ultimately "the war to end all wars" (it couldn't be, could it?)...
Today is as good a day as any for some serious reflection about what's going on in the World - right now, at this very instant - and the meaning of the phrase "history repeats itself"...
