A new month

The cold weather arrived with November: when I took Ana to school this morning it was just 3º C outside! Even colder weather is predicted for tomorrow so I'm going to have to unearth last year's scarves, mittens and hats before then. At least it's not raining and it really IS beautiful out there: crisp, clear blue skies framing warm coloured trees and shrubs. Picture perfect.
There'll be fireworks every day until Bonfire Night, which is next Sunday (why would anyone celebrate Parliament nearly being blown up, 500 years ago?).
Sleeping Beauty's B-day is in 3 weeks... Prince Charming, where are you?
Meanwhile, my own Prince Charming blew his "Forty" candles last night after some trick-or-treating with the girls (wearing a kid's pumpkin mask!) and a good roasted leg of lamb, which, I must say, was a success (as was his favourite, once-a-year, "Paradise" pudding, prepared by me in between the afternoon school run and the girls's swimming practice)!
After dinner, all the phone calls and the kids being asleep, we decided to watch some TV together (rare phenomenon!). Among more than 500 channels, the only mildly promising thing on TV was Tim Burton's 1999 film "Sleepy Hollow", which turned out to be a big disappointment in the end (Tim Burton is usually brilliant) because of a bad case of too much ketchup.

Hubby flew out to Lisbon today (he should be arriving there just about now). He's going on business and he'll be celebrating his 40th birthday with his parents. He'll also be seeing my family and going out with friends everyday for a whole week. Lucky him! Meanwhile, Ana and Clara, even though they'll miss him, are absolutely thrilled they'll be sleeping with me...
Next stop at forty: ME!

Hello, sis!
Hubby arrived well and now went to dinner with parents. Everything's ok! We've just arrived from the airport and will now have some dinner.
Love u
Rita

Maluca!

Cloud 9: my "paradise pudding" was actually better than mother-in-law's "paradise pudding"! In-laws and hubby dixit! Nighty night and thanks 4 everything!
