One of my all time favorites, sis. I think it was one of the first cd's I bought with my miserable salary from nut-house Minastela. I like the sad happiness to it and the beautiful lyrics. It's a classic: he never made it in life, but when a brand new year approaches, he says (and strongly believes) "this year's for me and you". (Boy, do I know what that's like...). Then there's that part when he says, with tired sadness, "I could have been someone", and she, with all that bitter pragmatism of hers, replies "and so could anyone". Nevertheless, it's beautiful how they stay together through the years (because they're meant to stay together). Beautiful indeed.
I'm an expat married mother of two with a myriad of ephemeral interests and occupations. I'm Portuguese by heart and blood, English by birth and Swiss by marriage. This blog is one of my many scrapbooks.

Este gajo é tal e qual o Paulo Quaresma do nosso curso... A canção é bonita. BJS.
