Spring brings lots of joy but also lots of cleaning and gardening to do! Less time to blog, I'm afraid...

Spring cleaning

If ever there were a spring day so perfect,
so uplifted by a warm intermittent breeze

that it made you want to throw
open all the windows in the house

and unlatch the door to the canary's cage,
indeed, rip the little door from its jamb,

a day when the cool brick paths
and the garden bursting with peonies

seemed so etched in sunlight
that you felt like taking

a hammer to the glass paperweight
on the living room end table,

releasing the inhabitants
from their snow-covered cottage

so they could walk out,
holding hands and squinting

into this larger dome of blue and white,
well, today is just that kind of day.

You are right, today is one of those days, here too!

(If the photo of these curtains are from "today", you can forget about the spring cleaning... and continue blogging - please!)

Yes, the photo is from today, Peter, I'm washing all the curtains now that the sun is out and there's a warm breeze in the air. I love being able to hang the laundry out to dry in the garden and I took the photo because I was a bit inspired by Ruth's flaxination post :-)

Ohh, the laundry joy. I should have hung some out last weekend . . . there's always next . . .

I had to laugh at hammering the paperweight! Poor little things! Killing them before they have the chance to walk outside, unless he's very careful.

The construction of human eye is still under debate Claudia. Since it is not convincingly explained, the creationists confirm that it is a work of God. The colour, the light and the eye, all are precious, who ever made it. i am grateful Claudia. A blind man has various other elements to enjoy, he also lives.

Thanks for making me aware of the light Claudia.

Half of Ruth's autobiography would be filled with laundry and music.
She can write a book how to make your laundry enjoyable.
